The next day the same scenario plays out. Frank returns with his newly purchased gallon of milk to find that the refrigerator is locked and in desperation drinks the entire gallon to avoid wasting the milk. This continues for one week. The second week Frank purchases only a half gallon of milk in the event he is unable to place the milk in the refrigerator he will not be forced to drink an entire gallon. He arrives home to find the refrigerator in the same condition and eventually drinks the entire half gallon of milk. This continues for the remainder of the week. On the third week Frank reduces his milk purchase to only one quart and as has happened the previous two weeks, he ends up drinking one quart of milk each day of the third week.
On the fourth week Frank has decided to only purchase the single pint of milk that he truly enjoys daily. As he no longer requires storing the milk he no longer investigates the condition of the refrigerator. As each week progresses Frank finds that he does not enjoy the pint of milk as he had previously since he has had to visit the grocery store daily to obtain his daily ration. As time passes Frank is no longer concerned with the condition of the refrigerator nor does he have the same love for milk.

Rifleman's Creed
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me.
I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit... My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other.
We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

Being a Leader
It's about rising above.
It's about going where very few dare go.
It's about have the vision to recognize where to make improvements.
It's having the courage to overcome any obstacle to make those improvements.
It's all about sacrificing yourself for the greater good.
It's something inside you that tells you it's all worth it.
It's that internal satisfaction of knowing that you did something great.
It's knowing that something that would have broken most spirits only made yours stronger.
If any of what I just said sounds dumb to you then your are not meant to be a leader.
Leadership isn't learned, it's discovered.
